“Business intelligence (BI) is a continually changing landscape. In-memory analysis tools are maturing rapidly, and business users are more technically savvy and demanding of control of information. In the Microsoft Office suite, Excel and Access have been the tools of choice for these business users, while BI experts have rejected these solutions as difficult to control, and not enterprise grade.

So far in the EntMo video series, we’ve seen the impact mobile technology can have on the enterprise, the importance of a mobile strategy, and the future of mobile. Finally, to wrap up the series, we’re checking out the speakers in action from the event itself.

Last month, Magenic’s Chicago office was recognized as one of the best places to work in Illinois for 2013. This month, the Minneapolis-based headquarters is being similarly recognized for the state of Minnesota.

In last week’s post, the EntMo speakers stressed the importance of having a defined mobile strategy. This week, they’re setting their sights on the future and what direction enterprise mobility is taking.

In part 1, we were introduced to some of the Enterprise Mobile Summit (EntMo) speakers as they discussed the importance of mobile technology and the enterprise. In this video, they describe how creating a defined mobile strategy can be the difference maker in successfully utilizing mobile technology in the enterprise.

For many companies, the jump to creating a modern application is too risky or intimidating. The high costs or inability to visualize the outcome are enough to drive them away. To make this jump smaller, Magenic has come up with an affordable opportunity to get a glimpse of a Modern App without betting the farm.

In March, Magenic hosted the “Enterprise Mobile Summit.” Dubbed EntMo for short, the event served as a forum for some of the region’s most experienced mobile experts to discuss enterprise mobile strategies and solutions. The event took place in Atlanta with well-known companies like Coca-Cola, UPS, Thomson Reuters, and Microsoft leading the event.

The performance of Windows Store Apps is important to consider, especially when handling large collections of data. When displaying the collection, performance can be degraded. In part three , first steps were taken to alleviate the performance problems that can arise under heavy data usage. Part four will describe further performance improvements using UI virtualization.

By embracing the power and flexibility of JavaScript, a developer can create data templates that adapt to changing data structures and criteria by using data template functions. This was described in part two of this series. Taking the concept of data template functions a step further, part three will discuss asynchronous data template functions.
