Summer Traditions Make Magenic a Great Place to Work

August 31, 2018 // By David Frankenfield

The founding principle that has helped shape what Magenic is today is to make it a great place to work. A great place to work should help create an environment and culture that allows employees to balance time to work and time that includes family, friends, and fun. One example of this balance is the annual Summer Picnic.

The Summer Picnic is one of the longest running traditions at Magenic, spanning two decades. Held at Magenic CEO Greg Frankenfield’s home, it is an opportunity for every employee in the Minneapolis area to come with their family and guests to enjoy the weather, drinks, food, and family-friendly activities.

This year’s picnic had activities for every age – boat rides, jet skis, paddle boards, carnival games, a bouncy castle, and even a dunk tank. Near the lakeside were caricature artists, balloon animals, and face paint artists creating personalized souvenirs that each child could take home.

With light cloud coverage and a slight breeze, employees were able to relax, trading business casual for flip-flops and tees to spend time with their families and enjoy an amazing Minnesota summer day.

"I love the Magenic summer party! I love seeing all my friends and getting to go with mom and dad to a work party. The jetskiing, swimming, and games are really cool, and I love the mini donuts!" said Isaac, age 9, who has been to the event every year since he was born.
